2010 crash victim honored Tuesday

By Scott Harvey

Tom Bean – The softball jersey of a Texas A&M University-Commerce student killed following a motorcycle wreck last April is retired.

Malorie Elise Bullock graduated from Tom Bean High School, which was the site of a community gathering yesterday where officials retired her No. 7 catcher's jersey.

Malorie's father, Rick, tells KXII-TV, "It's an honor that they'd do that for her and, like I said, it was something else that's a God send to make us feel better and make us feel proud of her and to remember Malorie."

Marlorie was 19 at the time of the wreck. She was the passenger of a motorcycle that crashed while traveling northbound on Highway 24/50 near Campbell.

The family also set up a scholarship in honor of Malorie which, to date, has generated about $10,000. Malorie's retired jersey will now hang at Tom Bean I.S.D.'s Wall of Honor.
