Greenville – Judges in Greenville could be allowed to carry a handgun under a proposal up for review Tuesday.
The City Council will consider amending the City's personnel manual. If approved, it would permit judges who are already licensed to carry a concealed weapon to also carry one a weapon while on City property.
Former law enforcement office and Associate Judge of the Greenville Municipal Court Guy Morphew has asked the policy be changed.
Current Greenville law prohibits the possession of weapons by any employee while on City property, other than by a licensed peace officer.
