Greenville – A giant development site west of Greenville is another step closer to reality after the Texas House passes legislation to create the Hunt County Municipal Utility District No. 1.
If the Senate gives their approval, the item will go before voters in November.
The Greenville City Council voted last October to authorize certain territories included in the district into two or more sections. The district would include more than 6,600 acres north and south of U.S. Highway 380.
Areas would be made available for residential, retail, commercial and industrial development, plus more than 300 acres of parks.
