– More places in Southern Hunt County could be selling beer and wine come November. Should a petition drive be successful, voters in Quinlan and West Tawakoni could vote on the measure this fall.

A group identified as Citizens for Economic Growth in J.P. 4 in Hunt County has submitted a petition with the Hunt County Voter Administration Office. Precinct 4 includes much of Southern Hunt County. If approved, a beer and wine sale item would be placed on the November ballot.

Beer and wine sale elections have become popular as of late, with four out of five area cities approving such an item during last Saturday's elections.
