Paris – The Lamar County Grand Jury has formally charged two men on separate murder charges after meeting last Friday.
Dustin Michael Cooper, of Center, was indicted in the shooting death of Patrick Gandy at the KFC in Paris back in mid-May. Police responded to the restaurant on Clarksville St. where they observed several employees running from the restaurant, claiming two men were inside, and one with a gun. As officers were taking positions outside the building, Cooper exited the restaurant and surrendered to police. Gandy was located inside and died at the scene from his injuries.
Also indicted Friday was Nicholas Marquis Edwards, who's alleged to have stabbed his father to death in late April. Demetra Hall was reportedly killed following an argument at a Paris residence.
