Greenville – Two Fannin County residents are facing federal charges of embezzlement from the City of Garland.
44-year-old Duane Milford Stailey, and his wife, 45-year-old Sharon Ware Stailey, along with a Denison man, are each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit theft from a program receiving federal funds.
Two other people allegedly involved in the scheme have already pleaded guilty. The indictment against the Staley's says that they conspired with others to embezzle from the City of Garland by creating false claims for damage and repairs to personal and real property.
The crimes reportedly occurred between August 1999 and March 2008.
