The Texas A&M University-Commerce Chorale prepares to fill the Finney Concert Hall with the sounds of Brazil on April 19th.
For the 7:30pm show, the music department welcomes guest conductor Vladimir Silva, Professor of music and Director of Choirs at Universidad Federal de Comina Grande-Brazil.
"Vladimir Silva is a leader of the promotion of arts and arts education in Brazil. He teaches music, conducts choirs, organizes and runs an international music festival each summer and is the department chair of music at his university in Brazil," says Dr. Randall Hooper, A&M-Commerce Director of Vocal Activities.
"The Chorale will perform three Brazilian choral pieces conducted by Dr. Silva. The final piece on the program was written by Dr. Silva and will be sung in Portuguese. He will be conducting the Chorale rehearsal on Monday and Wednesday of this week."
