Sister of slain teacher to speak at unity event

GREENVILLE - The community will come together tonight to address domestic violence as part of the annual Day of Unity.

Cindy Ray Kemp, the sister of slain Caddo Mills High School teacher Stella Michelle Ray, is tonight’s guest speaker.

Stella Ray was found shot and killed on July 20. He ex-husband, Micah Crawford Brown, is jailed on $1.5 million bond in connection to Ray’s death. Authorities say Brown has confessed to the killing, which reportedly occurred in front of the ex-couple’s children over a custody dispute.

Monday's Day of Unity event, sponsored by Women in Need of Hunt County, starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Best Western Monica Royale Inn and Suites in Greenville.
