Man still faces lifetime in prison

Multiple indictments for indecency and  and aggravated sexual assault of a child filed against a Terrell man have been dismissed.   But Charles Duane Mayo Jr. still faces a life sentence for allegedly setting a child on fire.   Charles Duane Mayo Jr was scheduled to enter pleas to multiple charges yesterday, about a month after a Kaufman County woman, Misty Laverna Dale Mayo, was sentenced to hundreds of years in prison on the same charges.

The Mayos each received one indictment with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, one indictment with two counts of indecency with a child and two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, one indictment with one count of indecency with a child and three counts of sexual assault of a child and two indictments for injury to a child.
