Possible changes for local elections

There could be some big changes for local elections next spring.  The Greenville City Council could vote Tuesday to scrap next spring’s municipal elections.

Or, the Council could decide to move the elections to November, conduct the elections on its own, or pay a little more to Hunt County in order to have the elections occur as currently scheduled in May.

The Council will receive a briefing concerning the issue during Tuesday’s work session, starting at 5 p.m., then is scheduled to consider accepting one of the four options during the regular session, starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Municipal Building, 2821 Washington Street.
