New advancements sought in ongoing jail lawsuit

GREENVILLE - Attorneys for Hunt County are seeking multiple responses from defendants in the now three year old jail construction lawsuit.

Citations have been issued against five companies named in the suit who’ve yet to formally respond to an amended petition in the case. Officials are seeking to recover up to $30 million in the litigation. A trial date has not been set.

The suit originally filed in January 2009 against two Fort Worth firms claims that the engineers and architects failed to adhere to warnings the Hunt County Jail was being built on unstable soil.
