Alphin's conviction to stand after judge's ruling

GREENVILLE - There won’t be a new trial for a Quinlan woman, sentenced to life in prison for murder, after a judge denies her attorney’s request.

Tracie Danielle Alphin was convicted in November for the 2008 shooting death and robbery of Jason Harrington. She reportedly turned down multiple peal bargain offers prior to the conviction by a jury.

On Monday, 354thDistrict Court Judge Richard A. Beacom rejected her attorney’s request for a new trial.
