Cold Temperatures Bring NFPA Reminder

The temperature in North Texas is expected to remain above normal for 2011, but 2012 will be ushered in with another cold front; and with that cold front comes a reminder from the National Fire Protection Association. December, January, and February are the top months for home fire deaths, according to the NFPA. Here are a few reminders issued by the agency: All heaters need space. Keep anything that can burn at least three feet away from heating equipment; have a three foot “kid-free zone” around open fires and space heaters; and never use your oven to heat your home.
