ANNA - A Ladonia mother was one of two people killed Monday night following a one vehicle wreck in Collin County.

Police tell WFAA-TV that 29-year-old Jennifer Chennault was a passenger of a motorcycle driven by her boyfriend, 26-year-old Ryan Lorenz, of Anna. Lorenz reportedly lost control of his bike at around 8 p.m. while taking a sharp turn on westbound FM 455 near CR 287 west of Anna. The motorcycle then slammed into a pole and landed in a ditch.

Both Lorenz and Chennault were pronounced dead at the scene.

Anna Police Sgt. Jeff Caponera tells WFAA, “Speed was a factor. Although it may have been, it’s a pretty sharp curve so it just looks at this point like the driver just mis-negotiated the corner and instead of turning he went straight.”

According to authorities, neither Chennault nor Lorenz was wearing a helmet. The posted speed limit at the curve was 55 mph. Police said Chennault leaves behind a 6-year-old son.
