GREENVILLE - 55-year-old Douglas Lee Jones remains jailed on $5,000 bond following the incident on January 17.
A representative with American Medical Response told Quinlan Police Chief Johnny Thornburg that a white male had jumped into the company’s ambulance in the 900 block of West Main and sped away. The ambulance was later found abandoned six miles west of the city and Jones was taken into custody near the location by a Rockwall County Sheriff’s deputy.
In paperwork filed by Jones seeking a bond reduction and appointment of an attorney, he described himself as homeless.
