Quinlan man sentenced for involvement in chase

GREENVILLE - One of two suspects involved in a high speed pursuit in Commerce last December has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge.

The chase resulted in damage to two local businesses and a residence.  Charles Ray Potts Jr., of Sulphur Springs, and Jason Paul Anderton, of Quinlan, were taken into custody.

On Monday, Anderton agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of evading arrest and sentenced to less than three months in jail. The case against Potts was not immediately known.

The chase stemmed from an investigation by Hopkins County authorities, who called for assistance from Commerce PD when attempting to apprehend the suspects.
