COMMERCE - James G. Gee Library at Texas A&M University-Commerce recently administered the LibQual survey to assess library service quality. The survey took place during the entire month of April with almost 1000 responses gathered from A&M-Commerce students, faculty and staff.
Three participants were randomly selected to each win an iPad2. The library will use the information gathered to determine which areas of service need improvement and where patrons are satisfied.
“Gee Library is always seeking ways to better meet the needs of our students, faculty, staff, and community,” said Emily Witsell, reference librarian. “In order to solicit feedback from a broad group of library users about how the library is doing, we administered the survey.”
The survey was developed by Texas A&M University and the Association of Research Libraries. Library users rated the success in providing a wide variety of services, such as online database access, study space, and help from librarians.
“To show our appreciation for taking the time to submit feedback, everyone who completed the survey was entered into a random drawing to win one of three iPad2s,” Witsell said. “Our winners were Arynne Johnson, Jessica Luther and Dr. Chris Myers.”
Librarians are currently assessing the data gathered from the survey, and results will be shared with the community in the fall.
