Summer resurfacing

KETR/Cooper Review

COOPER - As part of a $769,000 project, officials are performing resurfacing work in Cooper and later in Mount Vernon as part of a contract between TxDot and Richard Drake Construction.

The project could come out closer to $1 million upon completion after some change orders are processed.

Crews have 30 days to mill out the old surface and apply a chip seal then cover with a new hot mix along West Dallas Avenue in Cooper near the flashing light downtown before continuing work in Mount Vernon. The project is designed to seal out moisture.

The common practice of resurfacing will continue to occupy construction crews over the summer months throughout the region.
