GREENVILLE - The Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) presented the city with the award during the organization’s 2012 conference in Round Rock on June 22.

In February, the City of Greenville unveiled the brochure that incorporates the police department’s mission statement and information about the organization along with the requirements for becoming a Greenville Police officer.

The brochure includes photographs of officers, equipment, facilities and provides a QR code to link readers directly to the police department’s hiring and recruiting web page. The recruiting brochures are being used to gain exposure in the local community through personal distribution at selected offices. In addition, the Greenville Police Department is reaching out to community colleges and police academies to partner in job fairs and site visits.

Public Information Office Lori Philyaw, along with Police Chief Dan Busken, Lt. Charles Starnes, and Personnel and Training Analyst Shanta Woodson coordinated the design and production of the multi-page marketing piece.

Philyaw said, “It is an honor to be recognized by TAMIO for our work on the police recruitment brochure, especially since Greenville’s entry competed with larger cities across the state.”
