Building permit ready to be issued for Collin Street Bakery

GREENVILLE - The new venue could fill the void caused by the closing of Greenville’s Mary of Puddin Hill, which had been in operation in the area dating back more than 160 years.

The company has submitted a set of plans for the bakery.

Collin Street Bakery was seeking a change in zoning from commercial district to planned development for a 1.5 acre tract on the north side of Interstate 30 and east side of U.S. Highway 69/Moulton Street. The bakery and confection area will be housed in a 4,200 square foot building.

Mary of Puddin Hill, which had been located in the same building along eastbound Interstate 30 since 1955, says they’ve outlived the location and need to move to help keep prices down. The company website says they’ll begin shipping products again in September.
