Rewards offered for damage to Eternal Flame

Damage to the copper bowl of the Eternal Flame in Hopkins County.
Cooper Review

The Hopkins County Veterans Memorial on Celebration Plaza has been the victim of recent vandalism. According to reports, rocks from the nearby Memorial Wall and fountain were suspected to have been used to heavily damage the upper copper bowl of the Eternal Flame.

During a morning show on KSST, local attorney and Marine Tommy Allison offered a $1,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who damaged the Eternal Flame at the Veteran’s Memorial on Celebration Plaza. He stated that his primary desire is that the vandalism to the Memorial be stopped. The announcement has also spurred contributions from other local businesses seeking justice for this crime.

Although there are currently no suspects, video surveillance recordings are being reviewed by authorities. Fortunately, similar recordings have been successful in the apprehension of other vandalism incidents.
