Dr. Graham Sweeney, the chairman of the Hunt County Daysgroup going to Austin to meet with state legislators Tuesday and Wednesday, says public education is one of the major topics for discussion. Dr. Sweeney says one prominent topic will be the bill Commerce ISD superintendent Blake Cooper has developed with State Rep. Dan Flynn that would let home-schooled students take certain courses at public high schools. However, Dr. Sweeney says the Hunt County Days group is opposed to state vouchers to help families pay to send their children to private schools.
