Cooper Review

The Cooper Independent School Board of Trustees met Monday night to review some important policies revisions for the District’s handbook. The Board evaluated the Student, Athletic, DAEP, Band, Cheer and Employ handbooks.

This was just a rough draft. Cooper Elementary Principal Dr. Cathy Severns, Junior High Principal Richard Roan, High School Principal Keith Cook, Athletic Director Ronnie Green and Superintendent Denicia Hohenberger all chimed in on the various prospective policies which required attention which included dress code (leggings, tattoos and jewelry), drug testing, lunch policies, social media, honor classes and semester exams.

Those in attendance were introduced to the newly hired Amber Norris as the instruction specialist.

Examples of her work include: assisting in an analysis of student academic needs, delivering professional development, hosting department and teacher team meetings, helping teachers design innovative lessons, and supporting classroom technology integration.

They will meet again on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the Administration Building.
