Roxton ISD delays six-man football program.

It was recently confirmed Roxton Independent School District will be putting a hold on the start of their six-man football program. The last football team to represent Roxton was in 1957.

Roxton ISD gave multiple reasons for the delay mainly due to the resignation of the newly hired athletic director and football coach Paul Johnston and to the delay of field preparation caused by the unseasonably wet spring months.

Terrell Sports Complex is not in a condition to host summer practices not actual football games.

Roxton ISD Board of Trustees does plan to continue with the search for a replacement athletic director and coach to help build interest in the community and with the students.
