Commerce Superintendent Cooper Will Work For Non-Profit; Commerce ISD Plans Dual-Credit Academy

Commerce ISD

Commerce ISD superintendent Blake Cooper, who recently announced his retirement at the end of the school year, says he will work for an unidentified non-profit group that supports public education.  He and his family will continue to live in Commerce.  Blake also discusses plans for an academy that will bring high-school age students from around the area to Commerce High School to take college classes this fall.  The classes will be offered by Texas A&M University-Commerce.  There will be no tuition for the classes, but the costs will be covered by the school districts involved.  Acceptance to the academy will be competitive.
