Tax payments are up in Northeast Texas, though some counties are doing better than others. The newest numbers from the Texas State Comptroller County Sale and Use Tax Comparison Study show tax payments  up in six Northeast Texas counties compared to a year ago.

Net tax payments for July were the highest in total dollars in Hunt County – more than $363,000. That’s up 3 and a half percent from a year ago.

Percentagewise, Fannin County saw the largest year-to-year uptick. Tax payments were up 24 percent to more than $214,000.

Year-to-date payments in Wood County, however, are slightly down from where they were a year ago.
