Commerce Mayor Wyman Williams discusses plans for highway improvements in Commerce under the county highway program approved by voters in 2016.  A loop around Commerce and a pedestrian bridge over Highway 24 are no longer in the plans, but rather the plans include two roundabouts on 24 that would slow traffic passing by Texas A&M-Commerce.  Culver Street would be narrowed from five to three lanes and made more pedestrian and bike friendly.  In his capacity as associate vice president of advance at A&M-Commerce, Wyman discusses the "Lift A Lion" program to help students with unpaid debts for housing and food return to the university this fall.
