NE Texas Stays Red, Despite Blue Gains in U.S. House

While the so-called blue wave did manage to drip into a few parts of Texas Tuesday, Northeast Texas stayed as red as it has ever been.

Republican candidates in state races, most of whom were incumbents, easily won their offices. Texas State Senate District 30 and State House Districts 2, 4, 5, 33, 62, 70, and 89 saw Republicans soar to wins with about three-quarters of the vote.

The closest race in Northeast Texas was in State Senate District 2, though things were still not terribly close. There, Republican incumbent Bob Hall defeated Democrat Kendall Scudder, with about 60 percent of the vote.
