The Jan. 17 event will provide updates on the long-range plan for upgrading I-30 in Northeast Texas.

  • Later this month, people in the communities near Interstate 30 will have a chance to learn about the continued development along the highway and what the future of the thoroughfare might hold. The Royse City Chamber of Commerce is hosting a luncheon on the topic on Tuesday Jan. 17. Hunt County Transportation Steering Committee chairman Dee Hilton will be the guest speaker. The steering committee has helped manage projects authorized by a $24 million transportation bond package approved by local voters in 2016. Part of the [plan would widen I-30 from four lanes to six between Royse City and Greenville. A number of intersections along the way would have to be modified in order to do that. There’s a $20 fee to attend the Jan. 17 event, which will be hosted at The Quest Church, 6107 W. Interstate 30. Details available at the Royse City Chamber of Commerce website, www.roysecitychamber.com.
  • In Fannin County, the Bois d’Arc Lake Zoning Commission is scheduled to meet this Thursday morning in Bonham. The meeting is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Thursday in Room 208 of the Fannin County Courthouse, located at 101 E. Sam Rayburn Drive in Bonham.
