A 12-year-old girl from Klondike was killed Saturday night in what Royse City police called a "tragic accident."
Dallas-based KRLD-AM reported that the girl was riding a skateboard in the parking lot of the Royse City High School football stadium following Royse City's Celebrating Freedom, an event featuring live music and a fireworks show. She was hit by the vehicle her father was driving. The girl was taken to Children's Medical Center in Dallas, where she was pronounced dead.
Police are investigating incident, but said the incident appears to have been an accident and there are no plans to press charges.
