Early voting for the November 6 elections has topped more than 5,000 ballots already.Faced with what has been an unprecedented demand Hunt County elections administrator Mina Cook announced her office was expanding early voting next week with additional hours scheduled on two days.

Cook said another 975 people voted early by personal appearance Thursday with 35 ballots arriving by mail, 4 limited ballots, and 3 military ballots.

The 1,017 ballots cast Thursday raised the early vote total in Hunt County to 5,289 early ballots through the first four days of early voting. Early voting for the elections began Monday, and will continue through November 2.
