Emily Glass Chairs Hopkins County United Way Campaign; Doug Moore New Sulphur Springs Mayor; Symphony & Fireworks Saturday (July 2)

Emily Glass, our commentator on events in Sulphur Springs and former mayor, will chair the 2022-23 Hopkins County United Way fund-raising campaign.

Working with past chair Kristy Landers Moseley, Emily the goal for the campaign, which will begin with a luncheon on Sept. 21, is $150,000.00. Emily relates that the new mayor of Sulphur Springs is City Council member Doug Moore, succeeding John Sellers, who will be mayor pro-tempore. The Northeast Texas Symphony Orchestra will perform at an Independence Day celebration including fireworks in downtown Sulphur Springs on Saturday evening (July 2).

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
