Wyman Williams, former Commerce mayor, longtime local car dealer, and our business commentator, says the Texas economy continues to be strong despite the national economic downturn of two consecutive quarters of negative growth, traditionally considered the definition of a recession but disputed by the Biden administration.

Wyman says he's excited by the street and infrastructure work that has started for the new housing development on FM 3218 south of the Commerce Elementary School. The development by one of the Dallas-area's top home building companies, Bloomfield, is planned to include more than 250 homes in several phases.
