Due to the Commerce Tigers having this week off, 88.9 KETR is broadcasting the Caddo Mills game against Van Alstyne this week.

The Caddo Mills Fighting Foxes enter district play with a 1-3 record, losing their first three games at Krum (28-25), against Edgewood (29-19), and at Lone Oak (33-28) before winning against Community (20-14) last week. They have scored 92 points and allowed 104.

Key athletes for the Foxes include Erik Richards (Passing 37-77-5, 494 yards, 6 TD; Rushing 110-564 yards, 6 TD), David Chandler (Rushing 41-222 yards, 2 TD) and Keaton Jones (Receiving 12-151 yards, 3 TD) on offense; and on defense look to senior linebacker Jordan Bicknell (41 tackles, 1 QB hurry) and senior defensive end Garrett Cox (31 tackles, 4 sacks, 2 PBU).

The Van Alsytne Panthers also enter district play tonight, but they come in with a slightly better record at 2-2. They won their first game against Holliday (49-21), but then lost at Melissa (47-20) before boucing back to win against Anna (35-14). Last week Frisco Lone Star proved to be too much to handle, beating the Panthers 51-28.

Players to watch on the Van Alstyne side include junior quarterback Alex Phillips (Passing 37-73-7, 452 yards, 4 TD; Rushing 66-421 yards, 9 TD), Terry Lawrence (Rushing 82-494 yards, 1 TD) and Shawn Wheeler (Receiving 14-196 yards, 1 TD) on offense, and Adam White (29 tackles), Matt Burge (3 sacks, 4 hurries) and Kearon Redmon (2 INT, 4 PBU) on defense.

Caddo Mills won last year 31-21, and this should be another close game. The Panthers are averaging 33 points per game, and the Foxes are averaging 23. Van Alstyne holds the statistical edge on offense, with 276 rushing yards per game to Caddo Mills' 221, and 130.5 passing yards per game to Caddo Mills' 123.5 yards per game.

On defense the Foxes are a little stronger, with 67 tackles a game to 49.3, and 2.5 sacks to Van Alstyne's 1.8.

Pregame starts at 6:30 with the Big Friday Night Scoreboard Program here on Your Station, 88.9 KETR, and kickoff is at 7:30. Kevin Jefferies and Cooper Welch will have the call of the game.
