Bulldogs: Playoff Outlook

It is no trick. The Cooper Bulldogs have punched their ticket to postseason grid action. It was only slightly bone-chilling on Halloween Friday as the hometown ’Dogs shutout the visiting Panthers, 20-0.

They could face competitor from Class 3A, Div. II District 5 of Howe Bulldogs or old playoff foe, Leonard Tigers.

While the deal might be sealed, there is still a District obstacle for the Bulldogs – the Chisum Mustangs, who are contenders this year.

“They have been scoring lots of points by the quarterback and receivers,” said Cooper Bulldogs Head Football Coach Ronnie Green. Chisum gave a comeback performance Friday defeating Edgewood 66-52 in a long-lasting battle. They have evened their District mark 2-2 and have racked up 411 points for the season – already 134 points better than their entire 2013 season.

Depending on the outcome of tomorrow’s games, two teams other from Edgewood, Alba-Golden and/or Chisum will advance out of District 6.
