Early Voting in Lamar County Could Outpace 2016 Totals

Update, Oct. 23, 2018, 7:50 p.m.: Early voting totals at the end of the day Tuesday in Lamar County were 3,137.

Early voting is moving at a snappy pace in Northeast Texas. Hunt and Lamar counties, first-day totals are even besting first-day turnout from the 2016 presidential election.

The Herald-Banner also reports record numbers in Hunt County. Monday’s 2,000 voters tops first-day totals from 2016 and the county’s previous record holder, 2012.
