Commerce Independent School District cancels elections

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – The Commerce School Board has cancelled its May elections. The decision was made during Monday's monthly meeting because both seats up for election did not receive any opposition.

Incumbent Willie Blow will retain his post at Place 5, while Ted Oats will fill the vacancy at Place 4. That position was last served by Dr. Frank Ashley, who resigned last year. Both Blow and Oats will be sworn into the three year terms following the May 10 general elections.
