Retired A&M-Commerce professor killed in auto-pedestrian accident

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – A retired Texas A&M University-Commerce professor is killed following a one vehicle accident Tuesday morning.

Dr. Jack Ingram was said to be crossing the roadway near the intersection of Live Oak Street and Prim Street when he was hit by a truck. The woman driver stated that the sun was in her eyes as she turned and it slightly impaired her vision.

Dr. Ingram was transported to Hunt Regional Community Hospital in Greenville where he was pronounced dead a short time later. An autopsy has been requested.

A report from the Commerce Police Department indicates foul play is not a factor in the accident.

Dr. Ingram is a professor emeritus of business administration and management information systems (BA MIS).
