Greenville – A local movie rental business will soon be closing its doors. Effective July 18, the Blockbuster in Greenville officially closes.
The store ceased making any rentals as of Sunday and a clearance sale of remaining inventory is currently underway.
Blockbuster will keep the "kiosk" rental locations in the Super One and Brookshire's stores in Greenville open.
Reports indicate company officials were seeking contingency financing to avoid going into bankruptcy.
