longtime Greenville civic leader Reese dies

Greenville – Services are scheduled this weekend in Greenville for a longtime civic leader.

Carl Reese died Wednesday at Hunt Regional Healthcare. He was 70 years old.

Visitation is scheduled Friday night and funeral services are set for Saturday at Coker-Matthews Funeral Home.

Reese was recognized as the consummate local volunteer, dedicating his time and energy to a wide variety of organizations and causes.

He was named Most Worthy Citizen of Greenville in 2006.

Reese was past president of the Golden K. Kiwanis and named United Way Volunteer of the Year in 2001.

He had recently become the face of Keep Greenville Beautiful, and in 2006, won a lifetime achievement award for Keep Texas Beautiful.
