– The Quinlan Boles Hornets are third in the AP's Class A annual preseason rankings.
Cayuga topped the list.
Last year, Quinlan-Boles finished the season with a 13-1 record, reaching the Class A state semifinals for the first time in school history.
Other area schools that fell shy of making the top ten but did receive some consideration: Lone Oak and Winnsboro in Class 2A, Paris and Van in Class 3A, and Sulphur Springs in Class 4A.
