University to host graduate orientation Wednesday

By Brent Lyday

Mesquite – The Texas A&M University-Commerce department of curriculum and instruction will host its sixth annual graduate orientation on Wednesday, Sept. 22 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the university's Metroplex Center in Mesquite.

"Students will have an opportunity to meet faculty and administrators in the college of education, graduate school, financial aid, and certification," said Dr. Joyce Miller, A&M-Commerce secondary education program director. "The students will have an opportunity to ask questions, receive answers and pick up forms and other needed paperwork."

The event benefits all individuals interested in pursuing a graduate degree in education, including early childhood through high school, an alternative teacher certification, and reading and bilingual/ESL education.

"The fact that faculty, staff and administrators from the A&M-Commerce campus, the Metroplex campus and other locations will be present enhances our efforts to better serve our students," Miller said. "Students who have been planning to start work on a graduate degree are invited to take advantage of this special opportunity."
