Quinlan wet-dry election passes upon recount

By Scott Harvey

Greenville – A recount has confirmed that the recent wet-dry election for the City of Quinlan did in fact pass.

According to Hunt County Elections Administrator Mina Cook, the margin of victory remained the same with 179 votes for the measure and 176 against.

The passage will allow the sale of beer and wine for off premise consumption only within the Quinlan city limits.

Filing for the recount was made last Friday. Passage of the original measure was made during the November 2 mid-term elections.
