Hunt County Warrant Division in full swing

By Scott Harvey

Greenville – The Hunt County Sheriff's Office is again looking to close out a number of warrants, having cleared well over 100 following the arrest of more than 85 individuals since last October.

Now, the Sheriff's Office will soon meet with current and newly elected Hunt County officials to organize a successful roundup for the spring of 2011.

Persons who have class C warrants (traffic tickets and other citations) and Capias Pro-Fine warrants (those that have a fine amount attached) first receive notification from the Sheriff's Office that a warrant exists. If they fail to take care of those concerns before the amount of time given, they are arrested. Persons with other types of warrants (Assault, Burglary, Theft etc) get no warning at all.

A recent warrant arrest for burglary even resulted in the clearance of at least 30 burglaries from Hunt and surrounding Counties.

The learn more or report the location of a wanted person, you can contact Warrant Officer Mike Ball in the Office Of Warrant Assistance at 903-453-6957 or log on to warrantassist.com.
