Second judge to hear attempted murder case

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – The trial of Lola Danielle Cherry, of Greenville, was transferred this week from the 196th District Court to the 354th District Court.

Cherry is accused of trying to kill her newborn daughter on Halloween night in 2009. She's pleaded not guilty.

Her attorney, Russell Brooks, had filed and was granted a motion to dismiss 196th District Court Judge Steve Tittle from the trial, as Tittle was the prosecutor in an earlier felony case in which Cherry was the victim.
