University among area entities to hold 9/11 event

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – A special performance to honor the lives lost on September 11 is planned Sunday at the Texas A&M University-Commerce Music Building.

"Lions Remember 2001" includes a showing of the documentary "Rebirth," where survivors from Ground Zero tell their stories of 9/11.

Dr. Nathan Harness, a faculty family and 9/11 survivor will then offer a firsthand account of the horror and heroism that occurred on that day.

Additionally, the University Chorale will perform "An American Hymn."

The community is invited and law enforcement and military personnel are encouraged to come dressed in uniform. Doors open Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Learn more at ketr.org/events.
