Aggravated robbery suspect gets 15 years

Greenville – A Greenville man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to a shooting and armed robbery in the city last summer.

Romano Dillard Jr. was indicted alongside Wayland Duffy Jr. and Dakieston Williams, both also of Greenville. The three are alleged to have threatened a person by holding a firearm to their head and shooting another in the chest in the course of committing a robbery in August 2010.

Dillard's trial was set to begin Monday. Instead he pleaded guilty and was given 15 years in prison. Trial for Duffy and Williams is set for next month.
