One student killed, three injured in weekend wreck

CAMPBELL - The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the A&M-Commerce student killed in a wrong-way crash Saturday morning.

27-year-old Suman Kukunoor was reportedly driving westbound in the eastbound lane of Interstate 30 near the 100 mile marker when he struck another vehicle. Three female students were riding in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

According to State Troopers, Kukunoor was pronounced dead after being transported by air ambulance to Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville. Swathi Thota was listed in critical condition at Parkland Hospital in Dallas as of Sunday evening.

Also hospitalized were Jyothi Challabotla and Tejawsi Bhavanan. Challabotla was listed in stable condition at Medical Center of Plano, while Bhavanan was listed in good condition at Hunt Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the other vehicle, 73 year old Jane Hale Kivell of Sulphur Springs, was listed in good condition.
