COMMERCE – Dr. Brent Mangus, dean of the College of Education and Human Services at Texas A&M University-Commerce, has indicated a desire to return to a faculty position.“Accordingly, I have recommended the request be granted and the president subsequently has approved it,” says interim provost Dr. Gary Peer in an email to University personnel.

An effort to replace the dean will likely take shape after the start of the New Year, and the provost’s office is currently considering plans for ad interim coverage of the position, which could be in place throughout the spring semester.

Mangus is the second dean to vacate his post this semester. In September, Dr. Hal Langford transitioned from the dean’s office in the College of Business and Entrepreneurship to a regular faculty position and a special post as coordinator of recruiting and marketing for Texas A&M University-Commerce at Rockwall.
