Another I.D. theft ring suspect sentenced

GREENVILLE - A Wills Point woman had been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to her role in an organized crime ring in Hunt County.

Shawna Lynn Spurgeon was ordered to two years behind bars Monday for passing forged checks at area businesses on four occasions in 2010.

Spurgeon is one of five people to be sentenced for participating in the I.D. theft ring and the second in less than a week. Lynda Carole Hill, of Caddo Mills, was sentenced to a combination of prison and state jail time for her role.

At least a dozen individuals still have charges pending in the case.
